Big Green Egg Whole Fryer Chicken

Want a flavorful, juicy chicken....this is it.  Can't beat the way the Big Green Egg cooks this!

Chicken on grill

  • Whole Chicken
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Directions:

1.  Place Big Green Egg charcoal in grill.  Start fire and bring to about 300 degrees in grill.

2.  Soak Apple wood chunks in water for about 15-20 minutes then place in with charcoal.

3.  Dice garlic, thyme and rosemary.

4.  Rinse chicken and pat dry with paper towels.

5.  Olive oil entire chicken.

6.  Season with salt and pepper.  Place twigs of fresh thyme and rosemary inside chicken.

7.  Take diced garlic, thyme, and rosemary and put all over it.

8.  Place on Big Green Egg, with plate setter under with a drip pan.

9.  In drip pan place chicken broth and water.

10.  Cook on Big Green Egg for about 2.5-3 hours until internal temperature is 165 degrees.

It's now ready to carve and serve.  I love my chicken made of Big Green Egg, so juicy and not dried out.  Great grilled smoke flavor in chicken.  Wonderful!!!
