Switching from Google Reader to BlogLovin'!

Switching to BlogLovin'


Whether you realize it or not as of July 1st Google Reader will be no more.  I wasn't sure how I felt about this, as I have collected quite a few of my favorite blogs in my Reader.  I liked it better than all the email that comes with subscribing to everything you like.  I tried that too.  But since Google Reader is going away, I have been using BlogLovin' for about 2 months now....just to see how I like it.

A few things I like about it....

  1. You can set your settings so that you only get ONE email a day with all the new postings in small clip form and then you can click on the links in the email that take you straight to each blog post.  OR if you chose there is a setting that will send you an email for every post in real time....this wasn't for me!
  2. I also like the fact that you can IMPORT your Google Reader blogs directly into BlogLovin'.  I did today and it was super easy and so quick.  Texas Lovebirds has a great tutorial for this HERE!  She does a good job walking you through it step by step with photos!  Thanks Carly!
  3. You can also create groups....so you can categorize them like Food Blogs, Craft Blogs, Military Spouse Blogs, etc.  However you want to set up your listings.

  3. Thanks for sharing. I signed up, but it won't find my blog, so now I wait for them to tell me why they can't see my RSS feed : (

    1. Karen...I tried to find your blog myself, when I click on your name, it doesn't take me directly to your blog. I then searched and found one at the URL called http://chunkyboy.com/fireballquilts/? Is that it? That might be the issue...because it is hosted by something else. Have you considered self hosting? I wasn't sure in the beginning that I wanted to do it, but I will tell you it has made a huge difference in my SEO and in my followers. Just an idea. I will try to find you through BlogLovin now too!

  4. Found you via Sew Many Things Darn Crafty Linky. Thanks for the info about Google and Bloglovin. I guess I need to think about getting moved over if Google reader is really going away. I'm a new follower now.
