Patriotic Stars Wood Sign

Patriotic Stars Wood Sign

This sign was carved on our CNC Router.  It is a simple star design that is both carved and then cut around stars without cutting completely through, leaving 5 tags where the stars are still connected.
Each star is painted in a tradition red, white and blue.  And then stained in Miniwax Polyshade Honey Satin stain.  Three coats of stain were added with light sanding between with 400 & 600 grit sandpaper.
As much as I loved the design, I couldn't decide what I wanted this sign to be used for.  Then it finally came to me.  Add a few hooks or nails and I could use it by my front door for guest coats, hats or scarfs.  So I painted a few nails red and here it is!
Works great with my flag sign too.  :)
I am adding this design to my Etsy shop.  So if you like it, you too can order one.
Here are a few more signs you might like to take a peek at:

  15. When setting up a workshop, probably the last place you should search for the tools you need is in a tool catalog. The catalogs and supply stores are clogged with an array of tools, jigs and other equipment that all look absolutely essential. However, these are the essential tools that every woodworker should own, and trust me, you'll use them a lot. benchtop planers
