2nd Annual Yellow Ribbon Christmas Ornament Challenge

December is here and it is time to decorate.  I LOVE Christmas time, it's also my birthday month, so December has always been a fun and festive month for me.  So as everyone is pulling out their lights, ornaments, stockings and more….I would like to challenge you!  Every Christmas we have thousands of Soldiers who are deployed and away from their Families, to show your support for them add a Yellow Ribbon Christmas Ornament to your tree.  And share and show your support on your own social media with the #yellowribbonchallenge hashtag.

My dear friend and another Military spouse has started a public event on Facebook called "2nd Annual Yellow Ribbon Christmas Ornament Challenge" (yes this is the 2nd year of her Facebook challenge).  Feel free to join in and share your photos there too.

We would all love to see your creative ideas….and I plan to do another post on December 24th showcasing all your beautiful Yellow Ribbon Ornaments.  So be sure to either share with the hashtag above or in the Facebook Challenge event.  Show your support to our troops and join in!!!

  1. What a great idea! I absolutely love your Santa hanging from the helicopter ornament. I will have to see what I can come up with. I'll use the hashtag on Twitter if I create one.

  2. Love the ornament, brings back memories of Mash. Here in NC we can opt for a Support the Troops plate for the car, which I have, as well as the usual ribbons all over. This year will add one to the tree too!

    1. I LOVE Mash, of course. We own the series on DVD…it was one of the first DVD series my husband bought to take with him on deployment. :) Love that you support our troops in so many ways. Thanks for that. I'd love to see what you come up with on your tree…be sure to come back and share or put it on twitter or google+ or Facebook with the hashtag!

    1. Thanks Carla! I can't lay claim to the idea, but I definitely wanted to see it grow and expand. Such a simple way to give back to those that give SO much!!!
